Berkeley Cox

Mr Berkeley Cox is the Chair of the UTS:ACRI Advisory Board and the Chief Executive Partner of King & Wood Mallesons, Australia. King & Wood Mallesons is a global law firm headquartered in Asia, with market leading law practices in China, Hong Kong and Australia.

Mr Cox leads the strategic direction of KWM’s Australian business (comprising approximately 1,000 lawyers) and drives execution against firm priorities and on its international, client, people and innovation agenda. He is particularly engaged on the transformation of the legal industry through new technology and business models to serve clients more effectively, creating more supportive and caring team environments where people can grow as professionals and humans, and how business can build enduring and impactful partnerships with the community and not-for-profit sector.

As a leading international law firm in the Asian region, King & Wood Mallesons is focussed on helping clients target and unlock opportunities between Australia, China and across Asia - connecting Asia to the world, and the world to Asia. 

Mr Cox became a partner of legacy Mallesons Stephen Jaques in 2001 and managed a successful legal practice covering debt capital markets, funds management, structured finance, securitisation and derivatives including practice in the U.S. in the late ‘90s when he was admitted to the New York Bar. His background in transactional practice has provided him with critical insights into clients’ needs, expectations and commercial drivers, international relationships and a strong desire to find innovative solutions to complex problems.
